HSU Cyclists Qualify for Mountain Bike Nationals

Jesse Palmer racing during the HSU Whiskeytown mountain bike cross country race on Oct. 7. Palmer’s fast finishes qualified him for mountain bike nationals.

Five HSU cyclists qualified for Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships to be held in Angel Fire, New Mexico on Oct. 20-21. Steven Pearl, Justin Graves, Jesse Palmer, Dylan Wright and Ashley Hansen all earned enough points during racing in the fall season to win a spot at the lineup at nationals. Only Pearl, Graves and Palmer will be attending the competition. Pearl and Palmer will race in the cross country and short track events. Graves will compete in the downhill.

Steven Pearl finished on the podium in every collegiate mountain bike race he entered this fall– making him one of the top points earners in the conference and winning him an invitation to nationals.
